Metrosideros excelsa x robusta 'Mistral'

This stunning hybrid, known as 'New Zealand's Christmas Tree,' was discovered on Great Barrier Island, identifiable by the scarlet brush-like flowers that grow around December and January. This forms a wonderful contrast against a backdrop of dark green foliage. A small, compact tree with semi-upright growth. Tolerates very tough conditions including poor soil and coastal winds.
